OUR 2023 SEASON INFORMATION

OUR HOME FARM 797 BRIDGE ROAD, COLLEGEVILLE, PA

FRESH CUT TREES

At this, our main location, we have an excellent selection of fresh cut trees from Pennsylvania and New York. Our cut trees range in size from 6' to 10' and include Fraser Fir, Douglas Fir, Turkish Fir, Nordman Fir and Fraser/Balsam Hybrid Fir. See below for pricing. We were able to bring in more cut trees than last year and hope that will extend our season and provide trees for all of our customers.

CHOOSE AND CUT TREES

We will open for cut your own trees on Monday, November 21. We have limited trees on this property that are over 8' tall and are mostly Norway Spruce, Blue Spruce, White Pines and Douglas Fir. IN ORDER TO MANAGE OUR INVENTORY AND TO HAVE TREES TO CUT IN FUTURE YEARS, FRIDAY, DECEMBER 8 WILL BE THE LAST DAY FOR CHOOSE AND CUT AT THE MAIN FARM (PLEASE NOTE: There is a 6' minimum size on Choose and cut trees. Any trees that are less than 6' will be charged at a 6' price)

BALLED AND BURLAP TREES

At our main farm, we have a large selection of live Balled and Burlap trees, including Norway Spruce, White Pine, White Spruce and Serbian Spruce

They range from 4'-7' in height (not including the ball). See pricing below.

OTHER PRODUCTS

We have a large selection of Wreaths, Door Swags, Grave Blankets, Greens, Pine Roping, Winterberry and Holly. In our barn shop, we have Stand Strait tree stands, Wreath Hangers, Tree Preservative, and other related items. Come and check out Alice's hand knitted hats, scarves, leg warmers and more! We also have an expanded selection of Fair Trade tree ornaments, hand painted Gourds, scented candles and Corkum Tree Farm coffee mugs and clothing.

This farm has some larger choose and cut trees (up to 14'). We will have a tree shaker and drilling machine available at this location. (PLEASE NOTE: there is a 6' minimum on choose and cut trees. Any trees cut that are less than 6' will be charged at an 6' price)

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

DO I NEED TO BRING A SAW? We provide bow saws with good blades so there is no need to bring your own. Please do not bring chain saws (Our insurance broker sleeps better at night if chain saws stay off the farm!)

CAN I BRING MY DOG ? Well behaved dogs on leashes are always welcome.

DO YOU HAVE A TREE SHAKER?. Yes, we have a tree shaker to help remove the needles that shed from the tree in late fall.

CAN YOU DRILL MY TREE? Yes we can drill trees for Stand Strait, Tim Mitchell's and other specialty stands. We also have both varieties of these stands available for purchase

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT? We accept cash, checks and credit/debit cards

CAN I TAG A TREE IN THE FIELD AND COME BACK AT A LATER DATE TO CUT IT? Sorry, we do not allow tagging of trees in the field.

I SEE YOU ARE OPEN UNTIL 8PM ON WEEK NIGHTS AT YOUR BRIDGE ROAD LOCATION. CAN WE GO OUT INTO THE FIELDS AFTER DARK TO CUT OUR TREE? We would prefer that customers do not go out into the fields after dark Our evening hours are for purchasing pre-cut and balled and burlap trees.

2023 UPDATE

The longer we keep growing trees, the more we understand that we are subject to the authority of Mother Nature. We had an extremely dry Spring season which made it challenging to keep alive the 2500 evergreen transplants that were planted. Fortunately, we did receive moisture throughout the summer before enduring another dry period going into Autumn. If all goes according to plan, these transplants will be your Christmas trees in @8 years.

We are slowly adding more merchandise to our barn shop and hope that you will check it out when you come in for your cup of warm cider. Thanks to everyone who has supported us in the past. We always look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones each year. Welcome to Christmas 2023!!

BALLED AND BURLAPPED TREES

For those customers who would like to plant their tree after Christmas, we have a selection of Norway Spruce, White Pine, White Spruce and Serbnian Spruce They range in height from 4'-7'. Please note that these trees should only stay indoors for a week to ten days. If you are interested, we will be happy to give you detailed instructions on how to care for a live tree.

WREATHES, GREENERY AND ORNAMENTS

Come into the barn and find your perfect Christmas wreath, many of them handmade by Alice. You will also find a generous supply of pine roping, grave blankets, assorted greens, holly and winterberry. And while you are enjoying your complementary warm cider, don't miss the hand knit hats, scarves, mittens and wrist warmers that are created by Alice. This year we also have Fair Trade ornaments, Holiday candles and beautiful hand painted Bird House Gourds

CHRISTMAS TREES AND GREENERY

Christmas season has always been special at Corkum's. It is the time of the year that we welcome the most people to our farm and while it is a lot of hard work, the joy of seeing old friends and happy young children makes it all worth while. Our approach is very low key. We do not offer all the "bells and whistles" that many other Christmas Tree farms do, but we hope that our more laid back style also can be appreciated. We will welcome you, offer you a complimentary glass of warm cider, try to keep the winter mud down to a minimum while offering quality trees and Christmas greenery at fair prices. All of our workers are our own family members or friends who enjoy helping out during the season each year. We look forward to seeing you this season and hope that you will become an annual visitor.

KEEPING YOUR FRESH CUT TREE FRESH

To keep your tree from drying out during the Christmas season, we recommend that you:

-MAKE A FRESH CUT OF AT LEAST 1/2" ON THE BOTTOM OF THE TREE JUST BEFORE PUTTING IT IN YOUR STAND

-KEEP YOUR STAND FULL OF WATER AND CHECK IT FREQUENTLY, ESPECIALLY THE FIRST COUPLE DAYS WHEN IT WILL TAKE UP A LOT OF WATER. DO NOT ALLOW THE WATER LEVEL TO GO BELOW THE BOTTOM OF THE TREE AS THE SAP WILL SEAL IT SHUT AND IT WILL BE UNABLE TO ABSORB ANY ADDITIONAL WATER

-DO NOT PLACE YOUR TREE NEAR ANY DIRECT HEAT SOURCE

-MAKE SURE YOUR LIGHTS ARE IN GOOD WORKING ORDER. THE NEWER LED BULBS GIVE OFF LESS HEAT THAN OLDER TYPES OF BULBS AND USE MUCH LESS ENERGY
